Hi! I’m Maria, a Photographer and Videographer based in Oulu, Finland.

I’ve been behind the camera since 2004, and my background in visual design has naturally shaped the way I see and create images.

I’m drawn to interesting light, atmosphere and visual experimentation. I photograph many different subjects, but portraits are where I find the most room to play with light, colour, movement and ideas, and to explore something about the person beyond what’s immediately visible.

For me, the most interesting images are the ones that do more than document what was in front of the camera. They leave you with a feeling, a question, or a glimpse of something underneath the surface.
